5. Gundam Reconguista in G
Reconguista in G is one of the more recent installments in the Gundam universe, airing in Japan in 2014. This series features the return of the original creator of Gundam who hadn’t participated in directing a Gundam title in over a decade. Taking place during its own standalone timeline, Reconguista focuses on a political and religious movement that has placed a ban on advancing technology to avoid any international wars. Without having any impact on any other Gundam title, this is a great show to watch for any new fans.
4. Mobile Suit Gundam Char’s Counterattack (previously number 5)
The Char's Counterattack movie takes place within the Universal Century, continuing Amuro's and Char's story after the One Year War. Witness the finale of Amuro and Char's rivalry in this epic anime movie! And of course, it's a great feature of my babe Char.
3. Gundam Build Fighters Try (previously number 11)
Gundam Build Fighters Try (or Tri, as in three main characters – haha, get it?!) is the sequel to Gundam Build Fighters. Together, the two seasons form a standalone series that takes place during a timeline similar to our own with high-tech robot toys that can battle each other. It's an extremely fun series we recommend to anyone who isn't an original Gundam fan but enjoyed shows such as Angelic Layer, Fantasista Doll, or Zatch Bell. If you’re looking for HD robot battles check this one out! Also it has a catchy soundtrack.
2. Mobile Suit V Gundam
V Gundam, also known as Victory Gundam, fits later into the original Gundam "Universal Century" timeline. Since it’s been in the top spots of our top sellers for a couple months now, we wanted to recommend to anyone who wants to check out the hype to first watch the original Gundam, Zeta and ZZ, Char's Counterattack (linked above), and Unicornbefore diving into V (in that order).
